North Terminal or South Terminal

Gatwick has two terminals and they are not next door to each other. They are connected by a shuttle that takes a few minutes, but if you are dropped at the wrong one with heavy luggage and a tight check in window, those minutes matter.

Tell us your airline or flight number when you book and we will take you to the correct terminal. If your airline changes terminal between booking and travel, which does happen, we pick it up from the flight number rather than relying on what was true on the day you booked.

How Long the Journey Takes

From Wallington and the surrounding areas the drive to Gatwick is usually somewhere between forty minutes and an hour, depending on traffic, the time of day and which terminal you need. The M23 is the normal route and it is generally kind. The stretch around the M25 junction is the part that varies most.

For an early morning departure we will normally suggest leaving earlier than the raw drive time suggests. Security queues are less predictable than the road, and it costs nothing to be sitting in the terminal with time to spare.

What Happens on the Day

Your driver arrives at the pickup address at the agreed time, helps with luggage, and takes you directly to your terminal. There is no shared vehicle and no other pickups along the way.

For return journeys we track the flight. If the inbound lands early the driver is there early. If it is delayed, the booking moves with it. You do not need to call ahead or rebook.

Luggage, Child Seats and Larger Groups

Tell us what you are travelling with. Four adults with four large suitcases will not fit comfortably in a saloon car, and it is better to establish that at the booking than at the kerb. We can send a larger vehicle where one is needed.

Child seats need to be requested in advance so the right seat is fitted before the driver sets off. Let us know the age of the child rather than the seat type and we will match it.

The Gatwick Drop Off Charge

Gatwick charges a fee for every vehicle entering the forecourt drop off zones at both terminals, and there is a time limit once you are inside. If you are booking a transfer with us, ask for the charge to be confirmed as part of your quote so there is no question about it at the end of the journey.

Driving Yourself or Booking a Transfer

For a short trip, driving to the airport and paying the drop off fee is often the cheaper option, and we will tell you so. The arithmetic changes once the car has to sit in a car park for a week, or once you count two round trips instead of one, fuel both ways, and the risk of an emissions charge on an older vehicle.

The other factor is the one people leave out of the sum: somebody has to make the drive twice, and one of those times is usually at an unsociable hour.
