Heathrow Airport Transfers from Wallington, Sutton and Croydon
Wallington Cars and Couriers has been running airport transfers from this part of South London for over 40 years. Heathrow is a longer run than Gatwick from most of our patch, and it is the one where getting the departure time right matters most.
Every booking is a pre-arranged private hire journey with a licensed driver and a named vehicle. You book the time, we confirm it, and the driver is there. There is no app searching for a car and no surge pricing at five in the morning.
Which Heathrow Terminal Do You Need
Heathrow has four working terminals and they are genuinely far apart. Terminals 2 and 3 sit together in the central area. Terminal 4 is to the south and Terminal 5 is to the west, and each has its own access road. Arriving at the wrong one is not a short walk, it is a train ride.
Give us your airline or flight number at the booking and we will take you to the right terminal. Airlines do move terminal, sometimes at short notice, so we work from the flight number rather than from what was correct when you booked.
How Long the Journey Takes
From Wallington, Sutton and the surrounding areas Heathrow is usually somewhere between fifty minutes and an hour and a half, depending on traffic, the time of day and which terminal you need. The route is normally the M25 anticlockwise, and that road is the single biggest variable in the journey.
We will almost always suggest leaving earlier than the raw drive time suggests, particularly for a morning departure. The M25 between junctions 10 and 15 does not behave predictably, and the cost of being early is a coffee.
What Happens on the Day
Your driver arrives at the pickup address at the agreed time, helps with luggage, and takes you directly to your terminal. There is no shared vehicle and no other pickups along the way.
For return journeys we track the flight. If the inbound lands early the driver is there early. If it is delayed, the booking moves with it, and you do not need to phone us to rearrange it.
Luggage, Child Seats and Larger Groups
Tell us what you are travelling with when you book. Long haul out of Heathrow usually means more luggage than a short hop, and four adults with four large cases will not fit comfortably in a saloon car. We would rather send the right vehicle than have that conversation at the kerb.
Child seats need requesting in advance so the correct seat is fitted before the driver sets off. Give us the age of the child rather than the seat type and we will match it.
The Heathrow Drop Off Charge
Heathrow charges a fee every time a vehicle enters a terminal drop off zone, and since January 2026 there has also been a maximum stay. It applies to private cars, black cabs and private hire vehicles alike, and there is no free grace period. We cover the current rate, how to pay and the free alternative in our separate guide to the Heathrow drop off charge.
If you are booking a transfer with us, ask for the charge to be confirmed as part of your quote so there is no question about it at the end of the journey.
Driving Yourself or Booking a Transfer
For a short trip, driving to Heathrow and paying the drop off fee is often cheaper, and we will say so. The sum changes once the car sits in a car park for two weeks, or once you count two round trips instead of one, fuel both ways, and the daily emissions charge if the vehicle does not meet the standard. Heathrow sits inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone.
The factor people leave out is that somebody has to make that M25 run twice, and one of those times is usually before dawn.
Areas We Cover for Heathrow Transfers
We run Heathrow journeys from Wallington, Sutton, Carshalton, Cheam, Croydon, Coulsdon, Purley, Mitcham, Epsom and the surrounding SM and CR postcodes. If you are just outside that, ask anyway.
Common Questions
Which Heathrow terminal do I need?
Give us your airline or flight number and we will take you to the correct terminal. Terminals 2 and 3 are together in the central area, Terminal 4 is south and Terminal 5 is west, so it is worth getting right.
How long does it take to get to Heathrow?
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Can I book a Heathrow transfer for an early morning flight?
Yes. Early starts are routine and the office takes bookings around the clock.
Will the driver meet me inside the terminal?
Tell us what you need when you book. Arrangements for arrivals differ by terminal and by time of day, so we confirm the meeting point with you rather than leave it to chance.
Do you cover the other London airports?
Yes. We run transfers to Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City as well as Heathrow.
